Conventional wisdom has long held the belief that the world cannot be fed without chemical fertilizers. More and more evidence is pointing towards a new wisdom. The world cannot be fed unless the soil is fed. A healthy Soil is alive with diversity of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes and microarthropods, together make up the Soil Food Web. The organisms that make up the web of life trade minerals and nutrients with plants for carbon. Regenerative agriculture builds, supports and enhances the health of the soil by increasing soils organic carbon content, productivity improves - soil water levels increase and crops gain the full spectrum of minerals and nutrient, just the opposite of conventional agriculture.
Growing Credible Food improves farmland restoration as recognized by DRAWDOWN.org. Our Credible Food program not only empowers farmers and anyone trying to grow their own food, it helps all growers understand how to increase the nutrient value of our food system, be it pasture, row crops, plantations or forests.
Cultivating local Credible MICROBES, not only harnesses natures strengths to protect crops, those same microbes we depend keep our water clean, our bodies healthy while sequestering carbon as a valuable new crop.
Join growers around the globe and learn how to unlock the promise of carbon farming.
A different way of thinking for healthier food, water and cleaner air.
Soil health might not grab the headlines, but it might just be the most important agricultural conservation endeavor of our lifetime, if we want to meet the growing demand for food, while strengthening the health of our communities, our land, water and our climate; in contrast to polluted rivers, streams and drinking water, being the harsh reality that our vital global natural assets - soils are under threat like never before need our help to stop the decline. The Credible Food project connects businesses with a carbon responsibility to farmers with the capacity to sequester carbon back into their soils.
Investing in ground zero - soil - is not only a sensible business strategy it ensures food and water security, it builds sustainability for future generations, healthy soil has the capacity to build healthy nations.
The opportunity to take responsibility—together—for the land that feeds us is a wise investment for governments, businesses and families. We invite farmers, landowners, and consumers alike to join in collaboration in this next agricultural revolution—a profitable revolution that starts under our feet.
The business of soil wealth is a new wealth.
We all depend on the functions of soil to provide us with clean water, healthy food and fresh air, for this reason we need a regenerative economics ... a money system that is based on drawing down carbon back into the soils it came from, this way we can strive to meet everyone's basic needs while simultaneously ensuring our common future by protecting biodiversity, stabilizing global climate patterns and creating thriving human cultures that regenerate planetary sustainability.
The Credible Food Program provides space for a new form of economy, an economy that knows how to govern its limits, an economy that respects nature and acts at the service of humans, a situation where political and humanistic choices govern the economy and not the other way around. The Credible Food Project provides opportunities for the people to invest back into their own economies (soil) to create a new economical relationships that puts our wonderful soil that feeds us first.
When Economy means the economics of the home.
Food, Water and Clean Air are the Ground Zero of everyones needs. Every vegetable harvested and exported takes a bit of our nations nutrients with it. Like a bank account if we continue to withdraw our national capital soils account one day that account won't have any mineral capital left to support our children. We can change that, healthy soil is the solution.
So how can you help?
"It is estimated that at least 50% of the carbon in the earth's soils has been released into the atmosphere over the past centuries. Supporting ways to bring that carbon back home through regenerative agriculture is one of the greatest opportunities to address human and climate health, along with the financial well-being of farmers". Drawdown
Business. Reducing your carbon emissions is good, but not enough to reduce the burden of climate change on future generations, we need to suck carbon out of the atmosphere and put it back into the soil where it came. Carbon produced by business in day to day activities is a commodity needed by farmers to increase their yields. Carbon is the true building blocks of life and without it where it is needed, the threats posed to our necessities becomes an uninsurable risk .
Farmers. adopting no tillage , diverse cover crops, in farm fertility (microbes and no external nutrients), no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and multiple crop relations increases carbon - rich soil organic matter and humus. The result: vital microbial proliferate, roots go deeper, nutrient uptake improves, water retention increases, plants become more pest resilient and soil fertility compounds. Regenerative Farms are seeing soil carbon levels rise from baseline of 1 to 2% up to 5 to 8 % over ten or more years, which can add up to 25 to 60 tons of carbon per acre. At £30.00 a tonne this becomes an attractive second crop. IPCC (Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change)
Education. The Credible Food Soil Regeneration Course cover everything from Soil Food Web theory including beneficial microbe cultivation in Aerobic Thermal Compost piles and application via Aerobic Compost Tea/Extract to replace the missing soil biome on every scale and on any growing system. Methods and applications are covered and to the core of this work - the microscope and microbe identification is taught to verify the data and the results.
